Welcome to Westport Sign
Developed and designed new town entrance sign for Westport (Kawatiri). Given a blank creative slate this involved reflecting on both the history and potential future of this historically mining town.
The materials of corten steel with the gold text and sunray emblem were chosen to reflect the history and heritage of Westport, while the icons chosen were aimed at being future focused and reflecting the iconic clocktower, activities, and natural fauna of the area.
Engineering and fabrication of the design was produced by WestTrak Ltd., with sandblasting and painting by Coastal Construction.
The end result has been one of my proudest achievements, with this new town sign helping to shape a prosperous future and forward thinking culture in my hometown.
